Here’s what my typical day looks like on the road:

• Wake up and do my morning routine (gratitude journaling, meditation, read a book, eat breakfast)
• Focus for 1-4 hours and get all client work done for the day. This is done from my Airbnb, hotel bed, co-working space, or local cafe.
• Go out and explore. Try new foods, go to the beach, meet new people, and simply enjoy soaking up the culture in a new country.
• Head back after dinner and finish any remaining work if needed, plan tasks for the following day, write blog posts for fun, and relax.
• Rinse and repeat until it’s time to head to the airport for the next destination :)

When I left my old corporate job I was exhausted and burnt out. I couldn’t ignore the knots in my stomach every time I scrolled through job listings. My intuition whispered, "Give this freelance thing a chance. Just see what happens."

Right when I moved...I landed my first client. And another. So I booked a trip to Southeast Asia in 2017. I figured the client work could help me get by financially, and when I got home I’d look for a “real” job.

However, things kept snowballing - in a good way. I delivered great work to my clients and they referred me to others. I met people while traveling who needed help and hired me as a freelancer.

It got to the point where I realized I had replaced the income from my old job with online freelance work.

I had the choice to continue working online and traveling whenever I wanted, or go back home and look for a “regular” job.
